Florentino Perez has found a way to
keep Sergio Ramos and bring in David De Gea on the cheap.
Reports in Spain claim De Gea and
Real have reached an agreement that would see the 10-time European champions
pay him a £3.5m signing on fee next summer.
In return, De Gea would not be able
to negotiate a new, long term contract with United and would join Real on a
free transfer.
De Gea, who is currently on United's pre-season tour
of America, will be free to hold official talks with other clubs in
January but has set his heart on joining Real.
Perez has guaranteed De Gea the lump
tax-free lump sum and is prepared to wait until the start of next season to get
the goalkeeper.
Now United chief executive Ed
Woodward fears Perez will hold out for £45m for Ramos and refuse to sell him
unless the Premier League giants meet the asking price.
Though Woodward is not afraid to
splash the cash, but knows £45m is too much for a defender who is 29 and will
have no sell-on value once he comes to the end of his Old Trafford contract.
