Clinton Njie Confirm as Tottenham player with a 5-year contract



Tottenham Hotspur has supported their exhausted forward line by marking Cameroon Clinton Njie from Olympique Lyonnais for an undisclosed expense on Saturday.

"We're delighted to announce the signing of Clinton Njie, subject to international clearance and work permit," the club said in an announcement.

Clinton Njie,22, who has scored six objectives in 11 appearances for his nation, can play centre forward or in one of the wide attacking positions and has marked a five-year contract with Spurs, who completed fifth last season.

Clinton Njie scored eight goals for Lyon in 33 appearances last term as they completed runners-up behind Paris St Germain. 

The 22-year-old, Njie, who is on a five-year contract at White Hart Lane until 2020, said: "I'm ready to give my best to help the club achieve its aims."


Tottenham , who lost 1-0 to Manchester United in their opening Premier League match of the season, just have Harry Kane as a perceived striker in the wake of selling the “failing to meet expectations” Roberto Soldado to Villarreal on Friday.

Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor additionally appears to be on the way out of the north London club after barely featuring in the first team  during  Mauricio Pochettino's first season as manager a year ago.

The former Arsenal, Real Madrid and Manchester City striker has not been given a squad number with Spurs, suggesting his days at White Hart Lane are numbered.

Tottenham has a chance to recover on the race after the lost against Man U by host Stoke City later on Saturday.
